What is Deep Tissue Laser Therapy?

Deep tissue laser therapy uses a powerful, focused light applied to the skin over an injury. The laser delivers energy deep into muscles, tendons, and joints to support the body's natural healing. The treatment is non-invasive and is usually felt as a gentle warmth rather than pain.

How it helps sports injuries

For common sports injuries — such as sprains, strains, tendon pain, and muscle soreness — deep tissue lasers can reduce inflammation and ease pain. The light may speed up tissue repair and help athletes return to activity sooner. Laser therapy is most effective when combined with chiropractic care, exercises, and other recommended treatments.

What to expect during treatment

Sessions typically last 5–20 minutes, depending on the injury. Your chiropractor will move the laser over the affected area and focus on specific points. Most people feel little to no discomfort; some notice warmth or mild tingling. Results often appear after a few visits, but a short course of treatments is usually advised. Tell your chiropractor if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker, or have a history of cancer, as laser therapy may not be suitable for everyone.
